Joel Melanson

 

 Joel began his career as a fitness consultant and personal trainer at the Ottawa YMCA in 2001. After graduating from Algonquin College, he continued to work and study in the physical fitness field, both in Ottawa, Ontario and Moncton, New Brunswick. Joel has over 10 years of experience as a personal trainer. He has worked with competitive athletes in their off-season; he’s created partnerships with physiotherapists to help clients recover from injuries and he’s been involved in fitness evaluations for the Canadian Armed Forces testing new recruits.

Locally, Joel has had the privilege of working with youth hockey teams, coordinating and leading their off ice training.

Today, through Inertia Fitness, Joel works closely with his clients, helping them to redefine their lifestyles with nutritional guidelines, positive health and fitness goals as well as physical training and conditioning. He has created an innovative program providing clients with the option of training in their own home or the new facility.

The world of health and fitness is dynamic with constant innovations and changes and Joel understands the need to stay current with new strategies and concepts. He is always pursuing additional certifications in strength and conditioning methods and continues to research and develop the newest and best methods to help clients reach their fitness goals.

Joel is fluent in both English and French.
